Getting To Know… Sheree Murphy
Her first love is her family, but she’s relishing her upcoming role on new TV cookery show, Yes Chef
◆ I cook for my four children and my husband Harry every day. I love it, so when the BBC approached me about hosting a new cooking show called Yes Chef I said yes immediately! Amateurs at home are paired up with professional chefs and it’s such an amazing opportunity for them. It’s great to be back doing TV again. ◆ Juggling the kids with my job is tough. My husband is away a lot but luckily my mum helps me out so much. She comes to stay with us. I do love being at home with the children and I feel lucky that I can pick them up from school, but I also do have to work. ◆ Joining Emmerdale was definitely my biggest life-changing decision. I met my husband Harry because of living in Yorkshire (where the soap is filmed). Everything else in my life, like having four children, has happened as a result! ◆ Harry is my best friend. He’s so easygoing and is such a great sounding-board to chat to about stuff. We’ve lived apart for most of our relationship as he is away a lot with work, but you work at the relationship and we’ve been happily married for 16 years now. We make sure we have special times together. ◆ My favourite TV show is The Great British Bake Off. I love watching cookery shows so much and I get so excited when Bake Off returns every year!
“PEOPLE STILL STOP ME TO TALK ABOUTMY ROLE AS TRICIA IN EMMERDALE – ITWAS TEN YEARS AGO NOW! I DO STILL WATCH THE SOAP BUT IT TENDS TO BE ON IN THE BACKGROUND AS IT’S A BUSY TIME WITH THE KIDS AROUND AT THAT TIME OF THE EVENING.”
