Catch the best of the autumn’s cinema and TV releases…

From classy remakes of old film favourites to longawaited returns of well-loved characters, there’s plenty to entice you to the flicks over the coming weeks.

Denzel Washington leads the cast in a reboot of the 1960s Western classic, Magnificent Seven (released September 23). Meanwhile little Harry Potter looks all grown up as we see Daniel Radcliffe go undercover as an FBI agent in new thriller Imperium, also released this weekend.

Remember last year’s bestselling crime thriller by Paula Hawkins, The Girl On the Train? It’s a kind of Rear Window for modern day audiences. Emily Blunt will star in the gripping film version of the thriller which, if the book’s anything to go by, will keep you on the edge of your seat. Be sure to put October 7 in your diary!

Expect more thrills and spills with the return of two action heroes this autumn.

If you loved the adventures of Professor Langdon (Tom Hanks) in The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons you’re going to want to see Inferno (released October 14) – the latest Dan Brown book to be turned into a movie. As well as great action adventure, you’ll get to see lots of gorgeous location shots in Venice, Florence and Turkey.

Tom Cruise also makes a return as Jack Reacher in the sequel to the original film, based on the novels by Lee Child, released four years ago. Jack Reacher: Never Go Back sees Jack return to his old military base only to be accused of murder. Don’t miss it – out on October 21.
