Celebrating their Platinum wedding anniversary later this year, this royal couple have come through thick and thin to reach an incredible 70 years of marriage.

When the Queen first met the handsome Greek prince in 1939, she was just 13 but she vowed she would never marry anyone else.

The couple married in 1947 and through good times and bad, their deep love has endured with the Queen describing her husband as her “strength and stay”.

Although the pair spend time together, Philip has revealed the secret to their happy marriage.

“Different interests,” he explained. “It’s one thing not to argue about.”

Now both in their 90s, they look every bit as close as they did in the early days of their marriage.
