We all know the basics of safeguardi­ng health: don’t smoke, don’t drink excessivel­y, eat well and take regular exercise. Now it seems that laughter ought to be added to the list. Science shows that a good chuckle can boost wellbeing in many ways. For instance, a study at the University of Oxford found that laughter creates relief from pain; research published in the Oxford University Press revealed that laughter relieves rheumatoid arthritis; and further studies demonstrat­e that giggling can reduce blood pressure, boost immunity, and more.
