Tangle-free Tights

I find the best way to machine wash tights and stockings is to place them all inside a cotton pillowcase. This stops them getting tangled up with the other things and laddering when I try to free them. Nancie Rutherford, Sevenoaks

Treat For Mum

I made two cushions for my mum when she goes on holiday and wants a lie-in. I used leftover material, cut and sewn into squares, added frills and ribbons then glued on sequins and bits from broken necklaces and brooches, finally adding a material loop to hang them. Susan MacDonald, Catford

Smear-free Glass

When painting window frames, wet strips of wallpaper and gently press onto windows. You can then paint the frame with no fear of getting paint on the window glass. Mr M Read, Rainham

Cute Cakes
