Getting To Know… Lorraine Pascale
The chef and bestselling cookbook author reveals her guilty pleasure and shares her biggest passions in life
◆ Barcelona is one of my all time favourite places to go on holiday. The food is amazing, so rich, and I love the metropolitan feel and easy access to the beach. It’s got everything – it’s the best place for a nice glass of Cava and some tapas too!
◆ I am really proud of my latest book, Bake. For me baking is all about making something that you can share with others, so I wanted to create a book which would inspire people to make their own showstoppers. I have put my love and joy of baking into every recipe.
◆ As I have grown older, I’ve become much more of a “think it through” type of person rather than someone who makes spontaneous decisions. I don’t tend to make too many any more but I think that is down to the fact I made a lot in my youth and I have learned from that!
◆ Work, cooking and family are my biggest passions in life. By far and away one of my most treasured possessions is a necklace my daughter gave to me. It is really special to me.
◆ The last time I laughed out loud was recently when I was on the way to a photo-shoot for my new book in a black cab. I had an amazing driver who was telling me all about growing up in the East End. He was so funny; it put me in a great mood!
