I gave my grandchildren money at Christmas – what are the best kids’ accounts? ✦ According to RoosterMoney the average Christmas cash gift was £50 so don’t leave it sitting – open a savings account to boost its earning power. It also teaches kids the value of saving! Savings rates are still low but some kids’ accounts pay more than adult ones. Right now both the Saffron Building Society and Halifax are paying 4% on some of their kids’ accounts and Nationwide isn’t far behind at 3.5%.
