REDUCE COMPOST IN CONTAINERS

With big containers such as an old water tank or huge pot, fill some of the space with something bulky, like polystyrene packaging or bricks, to reduce the amount of compost needed. There’s a trend for Hugelkultur which uses a base layer of decaying wood, so why not experiment with logs and branches at the bottom of containers?
