GROW IN UNUSUAL CONTAINERS
Cottage gardeners never throw anything away and reuse anything that they can grow plants in – old work boots nailed to fences, saucepans with holes in, tins and boxes. Drill holes in attractive tins that have contained golden syrup, olive oil or treacle and use them for growing herbs and flowers. Look out for old kettles, baskets or bread tins that you can recycle as unusual planters.
