MAKE YOUR OWN COMPOST
The compost heap is the heart of the garden and the place where unwanted plant growth is recycled. Get the balance right for it to work properly and produce heat that kills weed seeds by aiming for a 50/50 mix of “brown” and “green” material. “Browns” are shredded paper, torn-up cardboard and shredded twigs. “Greens” are annual weeds, nettle tops, spent flowers and vegetable peelings.
