Wroxeter Roman City – Roman name “Viroconium” – is well worth a visit. Step back in time to see 2nd century baths and the remains of a huge gateway in the impressive ruins of the second largest Roman city in Britain.
Just a few miles outside of Shrewsbury is The Iron Bridge & Tollhouse, one of Shropshire’s most famous landmarks. It’s the world’s first iron bridge, built in 1779 by Abraham Darby III. This is just one of 10 Ironbridge Gorge Museums.
For a day out with a difference head for Hawkstone Park & Follies where you will find dramatic cliffs, tunnels, towers, monuments and passageways. Pack your walking boots to follow the cliff paths in this woodland paradise.
