“I spent time in India with Smile Train’s patients, doctors and volunteers”
Ameya Kulkarni has travelled all across the world, going to Iceland, India and other magnificent landscapes, taking world class pictures, all in aid of Smile Train.
If that isn’t inspirational enough, Ameya is only 13. His first photography exhibition, with all proceeds going to Smile Train, came at the ripe old age of 10. His first book wasn’t far behind.
“I have been supporting Smile Train for a few years now. I had discussed with my parents that I would try and give a purpose to my photography, and Smile Train offered such a nice opportunity to do so.
“I have spent time in India with Smile Train’s patients, doctors, staff and volunteers network, and the proceeds from this book are a small contribution to support and recognise their efforts.”
The book features pictures from the Londoner’s travels in Europe, Asia and Africa, making for an eclectic mix of stunning photos.
“This book has been built up over time through my various travels. I chose pictures for this book that I felt had a story to tell. In some instances, it was something appealing about the scene itself that prompted me to capture that th moment, and in other instances, I found a theme fascinating and actively tried to take some pictures around it.”
You can buy Ameya’s book WildAtHeart from Amazon for under £6, with the proceeds going to Smile Train.
