Kerbah ddreams of becoming an engine eer once she finishes her studies so she s can help others living in her home country c of Liberia.

For the 13-year-old, it is not an easy path to foll low yet she is determined to overcome any obstacles in her way.

Kerbah is one of 50 children living in an orphana age situated within a compound d in the Montserrado county of the West African A nation.

Her par ents arranged for the young girl to go th here as they were not able to afford the money m to send her to school.

On the site s of the orphanage, Kerbah attends All l Saints International School where, alon ng with her sister Sannah, aged six, sh he receives a daily meal from Mary’s Me eals.

She said d, “It tastes delicious. I love rice. I eat it t and I can feel strong and healthy. WWithout Mary’s Meals, I wouldn’t feel fine, because I would not be having food in my system.”

Kerbah added, “I love all the subjects, but my best subject is maths. I get good grades, and my teacher is happy with me.”

Before attending classes in the morning, Kerbah does chores such as sweeping the yard and boiling water for her little sister to have a bath.

When school finishes at 2pm, she loves to play kickball, a game like rounders very popular with Liberian girls. She then helps to bake bread at her orphanage.

Talking about her future dreams, Kerbah said, “My teacher told me that I can become a civil engineer. I would be able to mine gold.

“Then what I will do to help the country is I will provide money for the people in the country who don’t have any.”
