If Christmas is giving you money worries, here’s my guide on ways to get money advice for free…

There are three main places to go for free help and advice: Citizens Advice – find your nearest branch at WWW.CITIZENSADVICE.ORG.UK National Debtline – call 0808 808 4000 or get in touch with them on the website WWW.NATIONALDEBTLINE.ORG StepChange – call 0800 138 1111 or get in touch at WWW.STEPCHANGE.ORG

Want help sorting out your budget or finding yourself with less money each month? Go on a free money course run by Christians Against Poverty. Open to ever yone and they’re all free. Find your nearest one at WWW.CAPUK.ORG

You can get free impartial guidance from the Government’s Pension Wise ser vice WWW.PENSIONWISE.GOV.UK This is for anyone aged 50 or over with a personal or workplace pension who wants to understand their options – up to one hour’s help, either in person or by phone. And don’t ever believe anyone ringing up offering you a “free pension review”. Put the phone down smartly!

Not sure what an ISA is? Or how to get to grips with your household budget? Some banks like Barclays offer free money courses. And most offer a free financial review to check you’re making the most of your money. It can mean finding a better deal for savings or mortgage, but remember that they’ll only suggest their own products and ser vices so you may still be better off elsewhere.
