SUE’S GUIDE TO Sharing Money Saving Habits

-

Do you boast about your bargains or are you embarrassed to share thrifty habits with friends?

Most of us – and I’m talking a whopping 95% of us – do like to boast about our bargains, according to shopping cashback site TOPCASHBACK.CO.UK. But the rest of us feel awkward sharing our moneysaving habits.

Nobody likes a show off, but I think sharing and swapping money saving tips and tricks can be helpful – after all, you may encourage family and friends to save some serious cash.

Why not suggest they tr y comparison websites next time their car insurance is up for renewal? Or have a go at haggling or make a new habit to spend five minutes hunting for discount vouchers online before shopping.

Lots of places offer “Refer a Friend” rewards, which means sharing your favourite products and deals saves you both money. Restaurants offer “treat a friend” or “buy one, get one free” deals on meals, so if one of you is strapped for cash, let a friend have the freebie and reap the rewards the next time around.

But when it comes to boasting about your bargains, how far should you go?

Let’s be honest, there’s times when, however much you’ve managed to save, you should just keep quiet! There’s nothing worse than sitting next to someone on a plane who tells you how much they paid for their ticket, leaving you squirming in your seat knowing you’ve paid twice the price!
