Kate: The Making Of A Princess

Kate has taken to her role with ease and style, and truly blossomed over the years

Fated And Feted

Acting in a prep school play, the 13-year-old Catherine Middleton was told that she would soon meet a rich and handsome gentleman – ironically named William – who would fall in love with her, marry her and take her away to London. L

Ju ust a few years late er, Kate and

P rince William’s paths p crossed while attending a the University U of

St S Andrews. And in 20 011, watched by millions worldwide, Catherine officially became a princess of the United Kingdom, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge, also titled Countess of Strathearn in Scotland and in Northern Ireland, Lady Carrickfergus.

As we have witnessed more than once, the transition from commoner to royal is not always easy, especially for those who join the upper ranks of “the firm”.

Yet cool-headed Kate rarely puts an elegantly-shod foot wrong, as she juggles the considerable demands that life has brought her. Whether attending a formal event, making a speech, meeting and greeting the public or chairing a meeting for one of the causes dear to her, she conducts her duties with the same assuredness and skill as that of her experienced royal seniors. Never once, even in her earliest royal years, has she betrayed any of the nerves she surely must feel as the eyes of the world scrutinise her every move, every word and every aspect of her appearance.

Prince William made his own accurate prediction of his new fiancée. “It’s about making your own future and your own destiny,” he said, “And Kate will do a very good job of that.”
