You could re-frame your two weeks away as a completely different type of experience

-

You are so right, the rules change all the time! According to the prevalence of the virus worldwide, all plans continue to be affected. As soon as one plan has been made, it seems another stricture comes into place, and the original plan must be adapted or entirely abandoned.

Holidays are so important and I know that planning is half the fun. So why not agree to a holiday and get involved in the planning? Make a list of all the places you would like to revisit, as well as some new ideas. Why not make a UK wish list? Some places abroad may still be doable too, without quarantine. Check out the cancellation policy on these offers. Then you can decide which place is possible to visit, and the least stressful for you both. If you want to share your holiday with your husband, you will have to agree on that as a principle. Then you can be practical.

You could re-frame your two weeks away as a different type of experience. You could explore your parents’ roots, revisit a seaside experience from childhood, map out a road trip where you meet up with old friends. The list is endless. Plan a holiday that is safe – but go ahead and plan it.

If he decides to travel abroad alone, this is fine, but he’ll have to move into a separate bedroom for quarantine when he returns. Safety comes first.
