The tragic ‘curse’ of Glee
Former Glee star Naya Rivera was reported missing, presumed dead last week after going on a boat trip with her four-year-old son Josey.
The 33-yearold actress had rented a pontoon boat on Lake Piru in California on Wednesday, but the little boy was later found alone and asleep on board, with US sources reporting he said his mother had “jumped into the water but didn’t come back up”. After the alarm was raised when another boater saw
Josey on his own, police reportedly found Naya’s life jacket on board and acknowledged that it “may well be a case of drowning” in a “horrible accident”. Her car with her handbag still inside was also found parked by the lake. Josey, whose father is Naya’s ex-husband Ryan Dorsey, is now safe with family members.
As went to press, the search for the actress, who played cheerleader Santana Lopez in the musical comedy drama series from 2009 to 2015, was still ongoing.
The last post made on her Instagram page was a picture of the star and her son, which she captioned, “Just the two of us.”
Unfortunate tragedies – including a number of suicides and sudden deaths – have also befallen her fellow Glee cast and crew members. With so much misfortune over the years, many claim the hit series is “cursed”…
