Kate Garraway’s husband Derek Draper has woken from a coma following his long and frightening battle with coronavirus. Kate’s a lovely lady and I want her to know we’re all thinking about her, as Derek still has a long way to go.

The most upsetting thing was hearing Kate say on GMB that her children, Darcey and Billy, have “effectively lost their dad”. As a father myself that really broke my heart. It’s so sad. Even if he does manage to recover it could be years until he’s fully well.

We’re all sending lots of love to Kate and the family.
