my most treasured POSSESSIONS are my three dogs. I’ve got Badger, who’s our black and white rescue dog, Bella and Teg, my working sheepdog. Life is pretty good when they’re around.
my Plan b was to be in the circus. I wanted to be a stunt rider. There’s an amazing woman called
Nell Gifford who, sadly, recently died. She was an amazing horse rider and started the wonderful Giffords Circus. I wanted to be Nell, basically.
my greatest achievement is making a sofa out of mud and covering it with turf. I made it for my show The Weekend Workshop and I did it in an afternoon. It’s beautiful, really comfortable and I was sitting on it only last night.
to CHILL out I walk. I’m not very good at sitting down. It’s my head space and happy time.
i’d tell my 16-yearold Self to try to not care what people think, but make sure that what you think about yourself is always positive.
in a Crisis i Would CALL my husband Ludo [Graham]. He’s amazing! He is brilliant at working things out and, when I get myself in a state about something, he has a much clearer picture than me.
my Life mantra is “Do something that scares you every day”, which comes from the late American First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. It’s really important to challenge ourselves and push ourselves out of our comfort zones. It keeps you on your toes.
the injustice that makes me really angry is that as lockdown has been easing people have been leaving litter in National Parks. One thing I noticed near where I live is that there has been no litter during lockdown and now it’s coming back. For me, the greatest injustice is people who leave litter and think it’s someone else’s problem.
i’m a Spiritual Person but I don’t believe in an organised religion. You can’t help being spiritual if you love nature as much as I do.
my new SHOW the Weekend WORKSHOP is an upcycling show, which is something very close to my heart, because I’ve been writing a book about living simply. I actually went over to Amsterdam and met people who are all making a living out of upcycling. So then this show came up and I was slightly nervous about doing it myself, as I’m not that handy. It’s a really nice challenge and a lot of people over the past few months have been trying new things. I hope the show will encourage and enthuse people with the idea of upcycling stuff.
