Emma ‘I’m scared of having another baby’
Spice Girl Emma Bunton wants a third child, but fears it could derail the band’s reunion plans
She’s part of one of the biggest girl groups on the planet and has an adorable family, but Emma Bunton has revealed she’s facing a big dilemma – whether or not to have another baby!
Speaking on Giovanna Fletcher’s Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast, Emma revealed she and her partner Jade Jones, who are already parents to Beau, 12, and Tate, nine, have been thinking about expanding their brood.
“He would love to have more children,” she said of 41-year-old Jade. “I battle with myself because I think I obviously would never regret having another child, but I might regret not having another child.”
And it’s not just her hubby who wants another tot – her sons are keen for a brother or sister too.
“My kids want another one,” Emma continued. “On New Year’s Eve we all sat around the table and I was like, ‘Right, wishes for this year?’ And both of them said, ‘We would like another sibling.’”
Emma then went on to discuss her fears about having a third baby, saying it could throw her reunion with bandmates Mel Brown, Mel Chisholm and Geri Horner into chaos.
“I’m 44 and with the Spice Girls coming back and with [her nappy brand] Kit & Kin doing so well, I’ve got two very healthy children and I think if I had another child I would be more nervous than ever,” she said. “That just scares me too much. I get frightened about everything.”
It was reported the Spice Girls are planning a series of concerts next year to celebrate the
25th anniversary of their debut single Wannabe. But with Emma’s baby plans and the uncertainty over the future of live music due to the coronavirus, it sounds like the girls may not be hitting the road after all. Emma previously toured with the band just two months after giving birth to her son Beau via C-section, but admitted it was “hard”.
