Workers living the high life!
DON’T look down!
A crane was put in place earlier this week at the old Sterling Cable site ready for the next stage of building work. Newbury Weekly News photographer Phil Cannings happened to spot some brave workmen at the top of the crane making sure that everything was secure and in place.
Plans to knock down the impoing 1950s Sterling Cables tower and replace it with 167 apartments were approved in 2015 after a decade in the planning process. Development also includes a new road linking Hector’s Way and King's Road and widening of the Boundary Road bridge.
