Robinson: “We have to be prepared”

-

HUNGERFORD Town manager Danny Robinson has made it clear that his side will “keep going” until they are told otherwise.

The Crusaders have not played a match in the National League South since January 16 after a two-week suspension was put in place due to confusion over government funding.

The short break affected teams in the North and South divisions of the National League, but the Premier Division was allowed to continue.

The two-week suspension is due to end tomorrow (Friday) with Hungerford due to play away at Eastbourne on Saturday and Oxford City next Tuesday.

Robinson said: “We have to be prepared and we’re in a fortunate position in that we can still train and we have been doing so all the way through.

“Until someone tells me, or tells the club, that the season is finished then we’re going to keep going

“I have always joked when I’ve said that I could always do with a holiday in football, but the one Saturday we didn’t have it I missed it terribly.”

Hungerford were able to play a friendly last weekend as they drew 11 with Gloucester City, but the Town boss is desperate for the league to resume.

“It was good because the full squad was there and everyone got a good run out and we’re delighted that we had the opportunity to play,” he said. “We have a full squad and hopefully we can get to play the game at Eastbourne.

“Hopefully we can continue the season. We want to finish off what we have started and everyone will be in the same boat about finishing the season.”
