Seven marathons in seven straight days
TADLEY Town Council is selling a red telephone box on Hartshill Road.
A WOOLHAMPTON man is planning to run seven marathons in seven consecutive days this month.
Luke Owens, who will be running through the local countryside and finishing at Elstree School each day, will start his challenge on March 22. In total, he will be running 184 miles over the whole week.
This is in a bid to raise money for the Charlie Waller Trust, a local charity with links to
Elstree School, where Mr Owens works.
The trust raises awareness around mental wellbeing issues.
Mr Owens’ JustGiving appeal has so far raised almost £5,000, with more than 100 supporters chipping in.

In a Facebook post, the council advertised the booth for sale, calling for sealed bids in envelopes marked ‘Telephone Box’ from Tadley residents.
Bids must be received at the town council office by noon on March 31, with removal at the buyer’s expense and subject to a sale of goods agreement contract.
The advert has proven controversial among Tadley residents, with some calling for it to be turned into a book swap.
David Parsons said: “Not impressed with this, it’s a landmark. Why jump to the sell option before consulting with people to see if there are any alternative ideas for use to keep it in its place!”
However, councillor Jo Page said: “The constant vandalism is both dangerous and costly to residents.
“Unfortunately no one has been interested in maintaining the books idea or any other for that matter.
“The council have suggested, as have residents, several uses over the years but although people want it used no one wants to actually get involved to run and maintain it.”
