College teams up with football academy
NEWBURY College and Procision Football Academy have announced a new partnership that expands the high-quality development of football and provision of sports-focused education in the area.
The partnership aims to increase the opportunities for students who are looking to enter the football and sport industries, providing top-class resources for aspiring and energetic young athletes.
The programme delivers a comprehensive insight across two years, developing knowledge and understanding in areas such as sports coaching, anatomy and physiology, fitness testing and training, sports nutrition, analysis of sports performance, sports injuries, sports massage and sports psychology.
Newbury College vice principal Lee Hunt said: “We are pleased to support the development of Procision Football Academy whose vision closely aligns to our careers, not courses mantra.
“It is important that we work together with other local organisations to expand specialist skillsets and the opportunities these bring for students.”
Meanwhile, Procision Football Academy director Gary Clifford said: “Partnering with Newbury College to expand the provision for our Newbury and Oxford academies provides an excellent opportunity for our students.
“The partnership ensures that
the students’ career development is underpinned with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the industry.”
Academy manager Craig Adey said: “Strengthening the skillset of the student athletes and broadening their opportunities is the fundamental approach of Procision Football Academy.
“We are thrilled to partner
with Newbury College and see the benefits this brings to students, staff and the community.”
