Trainer Greatrex is on the move to new home

-

LAMBOURN trainer Warren Greatrex has announced that he will be leaving his Uplands yard in July and moving to another home in the area.

Mr Greatrex revealed that he will be moving to Oliver Sherwood’s Rhonehurst yard in Upper Lambourn – a place that is very close to his heart.

The trainer spent 11 years at Rhonehurst, working as assistant trainer to Mr Sherwood and now will be heading back there to train horses of his own.

A statement on Mr Greatrex’s Twitter account read: “I am very excited to announce that, at the beginning of July, we will be moving down the road to train from Rhonehurst in Upper Lambourn; the same place I was assistant trainer to Oliver Sherwood for 11 years and a place which holds some really happy memories for me.

“I am extremely grateful to Jim and Claire Bryce who have purchased Rhonehurst as a new base for me to train from, as well as an investment for themselves.

“I will always have very fond memories of training from Uplands and we have had great success in training from here, but I think it is important to keep improving and moving forwards so I am really excited about this opportunity.

“Rhonehurst has incredible facilities, including a horse swimming pool and lots paddocks for the horses.

“I am really looking forward to embarking on a new journey with you all.”

Mr Greatrex also added: “Personally I would like to thank Oliver Sherwood.

“His skill and hard work is the reason Rhonehurst is linked with success. Oliver is a friend, role model and always will be. I will strive to continue his high standards.”
