Morpurgo’s Unicorns on stream from Playhouse

OLIVIER Award-nominated Wizard Presents are bringing bestsellin­g children’s author Michael Morpurgo’s enchanting tale I Believe in Unicorns to life in an interactiv­e production to be streamed live from the stage at Oxford Playhouse on Thursday, April 15, at 2pm.

I Believe in Unicorns has been adapted for the stage by Dani Parr and Danyah Miller and premiered at Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2013.

Danyah Miller also stars in this one-woman show, which has been seen and enjoyed by more than 78,000 people, including two hugely successful seasons at Vaudeville Theatre in London’s West End, a Christmas season at Orange Tree Theatre, Richmond, and as part of Imagine Children’s Festival 2016 at Royal Festival Hall on the Southbank.

The Playhouse’s programmin­g director Laura Elliot said of Wizard Presents’ return to the Playhouse: “We’re so excited to be able to offer this Morpurgo classic to families to enjoy this April.

“Miller brings this beautiful tale to life on stage, and we are so pleased to be working with her and the Wizard Presents team again this year.” Immediatel­y after the live stream performanc­e, there will be a free post-show talk taking place via Zoom with Danyah Miller and Michael Morpurgo.
