Laundry awards for care and nursing homes

WASHCO initiative to reward heroes of the pandemic

-

COMMERCIAL laundry specialist WASHCO, based in Bone Lane, Newbury, has launched its new Love Laundry Awards to celebrate those working in care and nursing home laundries who have made a difference during the pandemic.

After supporting the care sector throughout the pandemic, it quickly became apparent to WASHCO how hard the individuals and teams in laundries have been working to keep their residents and fellow employees safe.

To give the sector the chance to celebrate these laundry room heroes, WASHCO has launched the Love Laundry Awards.

There are two Love Laundry Awards up for grabs: Individual and Team.

The winners will be announced at the WASHCO stand during this year’s Care Show in October.

WASHCO managing director Pete Hosking said: “We know that care and nursing home laundries play an essential part in managing infection control and keeping residents safe and comfortable.

The Love Laundry Awards are our small way of saying thank you

“We wanted the opportunity to recognise and hear the stories of those who have made a difference over the last year.

“The Love Laundry Awards are our small way of saying thank you, shining a light on an area that isn’t always front of mind.”

The winner of the Individual category will receive a domestic Miele washing machine, which will be installed in their home.

WASHCO sales director James Holmes said: “When installing Miele professional machines into laundries, we often hear that people would love the opportunity to have a Miele domestic machine at home, so this was our opportunity to make it happen.”

The winners of the Team category will be able to enjoy a new Sonos speaker system for their laundry room.

WASHCO specialises in the specification, installation and lifecycle maintenance of industrial laundry equipment throughout the UK.

To enter the awards, visit www.washco.co.uk/lovelaundryawards and fill in the online form.

Select the category and say why the individual, or team, should be considered, in 200 words or less.

If you are nominating a colleague for more than one category, please make a separate entry for each.

The closing date is September 17.
