First food and drink street festival will bring ‘something different to the table’
A PILOT food and drink festival is coming to Newbury for one day in September – with hopes of a longer event in the future.
The festival will take place in the town centre on Saturday, September 4, between 10am and 8pm.
A number of artisan stalls are to set up in Northbrook Street and Bartholomew Street, including a gourmet doughnut company, international street food stands and a prosecco tuk tuk.
South African and Mediterranean deli sellers are also among the attractions.
A DJ and other performers will provide musical entertainment for the festival, organised by the Newbury Business Improvement District (BID) in association with LSD Promotions.
Newbury BID operations manager Alison Drummond said: “We have already delivered some amazing events for Newbury in partnership with LSD Promotions and we are delighted to be working with them again after the successful relaunch of the monthly Artisan Market, which achieved record-breaking footfall figures since March 8, 2020, before the pandemic started.”
LSD Promotions director Dermot McGillicuddy said: “With more than 30 years of experience in the market operating space, we’re committed to delivering the highest standard of festivals, markets and events across the board at LSD and Newbury is no exception.
“We’ve already received interest from top-quality traders offering unique and more traditional food and drink products, but if you’re a F&B trader who brings something different to the table, why not consider getting in touch with us for Newbury Food and Drink Festival?
“We’re looking to share only the very best with Newbury this autumn.”
