Padworth College Principal hails ‘great improvemen­t’

PADWORTH College sees 59 per cent of A-level grades awarded A*-A.

Padworth College is celebratin­g this year’s Year 13 graduating students, who today saw the culminatio­n of two years of hard work and achieved an impressive set of A-level results.

Overall, 78 per cent of grades awarded were A*-B, while 59 per cent of all grades achieved were A*-A grade. Principal Lorraine Atkins,said: “We are delighted with today’s A-level results and would like to congratula­te all of our Year 13 students for their achievemen­ts in this extraordin­arily challengin­g time. Padworth College students have seen a significan­t rise in those attaining the highest grades, with 59 per cent securing an A* or A grade.”

“We are thrilled that the hard work of our Year 13 students has been recognised. During the past couple of academic years, the new management team at Padworth College has supported students with a range of new learning strategies, which have paid dividends in the form of focused target setting by the academic staff.

“We are delighted that these methods have resulted in an excellent set of results, building on the improvemen­ts seen in 2020.

“I would like to extend my thanks to Padworth College staff, who have gone to great lengths during the pandemic to see the students succeed. “We are proud of our students for so much more than just their excellent academic results. They have fully embraced the enrichment and extra-curricular opportunit­ies that have been available to them over the past couple of years, despite the challenges associated with Covid-19.

“Over the next few days, our Year 13 students will be finalising their university choices. With over 60 per cent of the cohort securing places at Russell Group universiti­es, they have some exciting opportunit­ies ahead.

“We wish all of our Year 13 cohort every success at their chosen universiti­es.”
