Llanrwst stay in Division One promotion picture

LLANRWST are just four points off top spot in North Wales League Division One after a nine-wicket caning of visitors Menai Bridge seconds last Saturday.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Bridge were sent packing for just 126, Alwyn Williams nabbing 3-24, Scott Thomas 3-39, Trefor Williams 2-2 and Meirion Layton 2-5.

In only 19.5 overs, the Rwsters coasted to 132-1, David Taylor 63, Thomas 37 not out and Aron Hughes 21 no for a 14-1 triumph.

Conwy looked doomed when they were skittled out for just 74 against leaders Buckley, but Shaun Davies then picked up 5-35 as the Flintshire visitors stumbled to 78-6 and a 13-2 verdict.

Only a vital 34 from Paul Ram- baldi saved Bucks from probable defeat.

Abergele went down by just nine runs in a low-scoring affair at Gresford seconds in Division Two.

Owen Lynam notched a superb 5-24 off 11 overs as the Wrexham side were bowled out for 114, David Moulson 2-17 and Rana Das 2-31.

Gele were then dismissed for 105, a dynamic 57 from skipper Edward Rooney ensuring the visitors got close in a 6-4 defeat.

Division Four: Abergele seconds (7) 159-7 (Rich Marsh-Evans 40) Anglesey Aluminium (3) 113-9 (David Hockridge 3-17).
