Weekend of Jazz at Bodafon

-

SOME of the leading names in British and international jazz will be blowing up a storm at the inaugural Llandudno Jazz Festival later this weekend.

Among the performers at the three-day event from July 24 are British legend Chris Barber, Darius Brubeck, Digby Fairweather, Art Themen, Don Weller, and Anita Wardell as wel the festival’s artistic director, Neil Yates.

The action packed programme will be focused on Bodafon Fields in Craig-y-Don, with Chris Barber appearing at Venue Cymru and fringe events at Oriel Mostyn Gallery, Bodafon Farm, the promenade bandstand and Llandudno pier.

Festival Director Geoff Burke explained: “The Llandudno Jazz Festival is following in the footsteps of the great Appleby and Titley Jazz Festivals by presenting a wealth of the best loved British and international stars in a relaxed environment.

“As well as the main festival marquee, presenting high end jazz across three days, there are also more intimate concerts around the resort featuring well over 40 artists.”

Next to the main jazz area on Bodafon Fields will be a Garden Festival which will be open to the general public and will include a free jazz marquee hosted by brilliant saxophonist Ed Kainyvek with food, drinks, merchandise tents, a children’s area and other attractions.

Geoff Burke added: “Many thanks go to Mostyn Estates for their support and allowing us the use of the site at Bodafon Fields.”
