Liverpool legend Carragher brings soccer school to Colwyn Bay

-

LIVERPOOL FC legend Jamie Carragher is bringing his popular soccer school to Colwyn Bay.

A portion of the proceeds is going to Costain’s 150 Challenge charity appeal.

The three-day event will take place at Eirias Park from July 29 to 31, with £5 from every £40 entry fee going to the 150 Challenge, which aims to raise £1 million pounds in 2015 for the Samaritans, British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research and youth charity, The Prince’s Trust.

The school is aimed at boys and girls aged between 5-11 years. Children will learn about attacking and defensive principles and take part in a mini Champions League tournament.

The aim is to develop their footballing skills but also improve the social side of football by bringing fun and a friendly coaching environment.

The event is overseen by skilled, committed and professional coaches who have experience of working with young players.

There’s also a chance to meet Jamie, who made 737 appearances for Liverpool FC during a 17-year career, in person. He is due to visit Colwyn Bay on one of the days.

As well as being a Sky Sports TV pundit, Carragher now runs an organisation called the ‘23 Foundation’, a Liverpool-based registered charity which aims to give young people an opportunity to achieve their goals through local charities, clubs and community initiatives.
