SOROPTIMIS­TS: Llandudno Soroptimis­ts had a display stand at the Victoria Centre on July 20 to mark the Soroptimis­t Day of Action. Members collected signatures, against human traffickin­g for the Purple Teardrop Campaign and against landmines for Handicap Internatio­nal. The Soroptimis­ts also had a presence at the Conwy Music Festival last week as the club sponsored a performanc­e by a local group, ‘The Thorne Trio’. LLANDDULAS MALE VOICE CHOIR: Tues Concerts in Gloddaeth United Church, 8pm each week (except Aug 25). Tickets £5 at the door. Also perform on Thurs Aug 13 and Sept 24. ACTION ON HEARING LOSS: Monthly support group for people who are deaf or have a hearing loss. Sessions will be run largely by volunteers, most of whom have a hearing loss themselves. FOLKS ALONE: Living on one’s own with very few friends or relatives nearby can be a debilitati­ng experience. The aim, of Folks Alone is to break this trend and also to help older people keep their brains active through various activities. It meets at The Garage, New St, 2pm every first and third Thurs of the month. Mid-May to Aug meets on first Thurs , day and half day trips on the third Thursday. ST TUDNO’S CHURCH: Great Orme. Open every day. Open air service each Sun at 11am for which a free taxi leaves Holy Trinity at 10.30am. If the weather is poor, the service is held in the church. On Aug 2 the open air service will be followed by a shortened Eucharist service in the church. Morning Prayer most Sats at 9am. CHURCH OPEN DAY: On Sat Aug 1, St Tudno’s will be taking part in the Diocese of Bangor’s Open Church Day, 10am-5pm. The theme is “Saints and Sinners” and Friends of St Tudno’s invite everyone to come along to learn about local characters and legends and enjoy refreshmen­ts.
