Colourful charity run for hospice

-

IT’S going to be a real rainbow coalition raising money for a hospice next month.

The St David’s Hospice, Llandudno, has organised a fund-raising Colour Run to be held on the town’s West Shore.

The 5km charity event is a western interpretation of the Hindu ‘Holi’ festival, also known as the Festival of Colours, in which participants cover each other coloured powder to signify good conquering evil.

The St David’s version will take place on Sunday September 6, starting at 10am.

For those worried about the effect on the beautiful West Shore environment organisers promise the paint being used is 100% natural and eco-friendly.

The hospice’s community fundraiser, Mel Cunningham, said: “We had an overwhelming response to our Rhosneigr Colour Run, with many people disappointed that it filled so quickly.

“We have made more places available for this.

“It is such a fun, colourful event which everyone can take part in.

“It is an untimed race in which participants can walk, hop, skip, jump or dance to the finish line.”

Entry costs £20 per adult, £15 per child or £60 for a family of four.
