The re­cent £25,000 do­na­tion raised by a Golf Day at a Cheshire course was fol­lowed by a gen­er­ous con­tri­bu­tion of £2,000 from Llan­dudno’s County Ho­tel and a fur­ther £500 raised by a cof­fee morn­ing or­gan­ised by the ladies of Pen­rhyn Bay Townswom­ens’ Guild. The RNLI Shop team will op­er­ate a Lifeboat sou­venir and Christ­mas card stall at the forth­com­ing Ro­tary con­fer­ence at Venue Cymru.

LLAN­DUDNO AND COL­WYN BAY HISTORY SO­CI­ETY: The next meet­ing is on Tues Oct 13 at 7.15pm in the Town Hall. There will be a short AGM, fol­lowed by a talk by Bar­bara and John Law­son-Reay. The talk’ Post­cards from the Past’ looks at Llan­dudno through the eyes of visi­tors, re­veal­ing what they thought of the town, through views on the fronts and mes­sages on the backs of the post­cards, dur­ing the first 50 years of the 20th cen­tury. Non­mem­bers welcome (con­tri­bu­tion £2.50). Free tea, cof­fee and bis­cuits are served at all in­door meet­ings. of ex­tra cash, call in to see the Mar­ket Man­ager on a Fri, 11.15am-1.30pm.

PARK­WAY COF­FEE CLUB: The Sat meet­ing was well at­tended with a quiz. One ta­ble won the quiz with 10 out of 20 ques­tions right. The Bar­mouth Au­tumn Tints is full and peo­ple are ad­vised to put their name down in case of can­cel­la­tions. The next trip will be on Nov 28 (Sat) to Capesthorne Hall, call­ing at a Gar­den cen­tre for cof­fee.
