Junction hit Bluebirds for six in cup tie
LLANDUDNO Junction have landed a plum away tie at Caernarfon Town in the second round of the Welsh Cup.
The Railwaymen were rewarded with a trip to The Oval after knocking out Huws Gray Alliance side Caersws 6-1 in a stunning away performance last weekend.
Joint Junction manager Martyn Jones said: “Myself and Olly are absolutely delighted with the result. It’s a long way to come and Caersws are a well established Cymru Alliance side.
“We thought we could get the result but to do it in that manner was special.
“Deano (Seager) has returned to us and was magnificent; it was tough for him to start but he shown his class with two great goals.
“We were solid at the back but for one slip towards the end, and we looked dangerous going forward. We can’t ask for much more from the lads.”
Ricky Jones was denied by a fantastic Alex Ramsay save before the visitors took a 36th-minute lead.
Seager was handed his returning debut after completing his transfer from Conwy Borough and he broke the deadlock. A fantastic ball in from Jones was taken brilliantly by Seager who fired across goal to put Junction one-up.
Early in the second half Joel Hewitt went on a blistering run down the right, crossed into Seager whose effort hit the bar, but Jones was on hand to net the rebound.
Straight from the restart the Welsh Alliance men made it three, Bryan Roberts finishing off a Ross Howcroft-Jones cross.
The pick of the goals came on 67 minutes when Tom Cad-Williams and Sam Sinkinson combined to release Seager, whose shot was brilliantly saved, but Roberts was there to lay off to Jones and he found the top corner.
The superb Seager curled in his second from just outside the area before a slight switch off in concentration enabled Dan Jones to notch a home consolation.
Promising Junction youngster Adam Hold had the last say, the substitute latching onto a loose ball in the Caersws box before putting away his third goal of the season.
