Smokers should pay attention to others

-

THERE have been many suggestions and articles written about the proposals for banning and fining those who smoke at certain bus stops, which, in general, is a good idea.

But how is it going to be policed to be effective?

I don’t mind people smoking as long as they show respect and responsibility for their activities.

But it gets my goat when smokers smoke down wind from you, along with those using vaping devices and allow their vapour or smoke to be unwillingly inhaled and allow the odour to attach to a non-smokers clothing.

Due to my current health status, I wasn’t able to challenge the behavior of two or three individuals who removed the cellophane and the foil insert from their packet of cigarettes, only to drop them on floor, despite a bin being available 10 feet away.

This is another reason why Nottingham City Council have to consider implementing this ban.

I don’t know about others, but I don’t like my clothes reeking of smoke or vapour, no matter appealing the smell is to the smoker, especially with the weird and fascinating concoctions available.

I have to say that not all smokers of cigarettes and vaping devices are ignorant, it’s only a few who make us need a ban to address the actions of a few.
