Wotta lotta otter antics!

- By RACHEL GORMAN

WHEELGATE Park has unveiled the brand new £10,000 home of Harry Otter and Ottermus Prime, the attraction’s twin otters.

The purpose built enclosure – officially opened this week – took six weeks to complete and includes a natural pool for the seven-month-old brothers.

Asian short-clawed otters, Harry and Ottermus arrived in Nottinghamshire from their former home at Newquay Zoo in May.

The pair have now settled into their new surroundings and are the first in a long line of exciting new animal arrivals at the park.

Councillor Kevin Rostance, vice-chairman of Nottinghamshire County Council, visited the Animal Adventure Zone for the grand opening.

Following a tour with farm manager Keith Sambrooks and keeper Jade Bowers, he cut the ribbon and officially opened the new enclosure.

Families can join the farm keepers at 11am and 2.45pm daily, for an interactive feeding session and talk.

Based at White Post Island, in Farnsfield, Robin Hood’s Wheelgate Park is a 30-acre family theme park, farm park and waterpark.

Children can get “hands-on” with hundreds of animals, birds and reptiles with around-theclock activities for all ages. There is also an assault course, outdoor play structures, slides and bridges, mazes, bumper boats, peddle karts, bouncy castles, zip slides and trampolines.

Tickets are £7.99 for toddlers and £14.99 for children and adults. Find out more at wheelgatepark.com
