Enzio fires in a cracker for his first goal

-

KEVIN Nolan felt Enzio Boldewijn’s stunning goal for Notts County was worthy of being a match-winner as he admitted “there’s no time to sulk” after defeat to Cambridge.

Boldewijn opened his account in majestic fashion following his summer move from Crawley with a stunning strike from 30 yards to give Notts the lead.

But a defensive mix-up early in the second half allowed Ade Azeez to score an equaliser and further sloppy defending gifted the forward a second goal.

Richard Duffy thought he had secured a point for Notts with a close-range header, but Barry Corr took advantage of some sloppy marking to give The U’s a 3-2 victory.

Reflecting on the defeat, Magpies boss Nolan was thrilled with Boldewijn’s strike but said his side had been architects of their own demise.

“Strikes like that deserve to win you a match, or at least earn you a point,” he said.

“We don’t like losing games at all but certainly not in the manner we did, so we need to improve quickly.

“We’ll show the players the footage so they see how easy we made it for them, and then we have to move on because we’re back in action on Tuesday and then Friday so there’s no time to sulk.”
