1 GOLDSTONE Tonight, BBC4, 9pm

THE sequel to the Australian thriller Mystery Road (which also spawned a TV series), finds Aaron Pedersen reprising his role as Detective Jay Swan, an indigenous cop who heads to an Outback township to investigat­e the disappeara­nce of a young woman. It soon becomes clear he shouldn’t expect much help from the powerful local mining company, or the mayor (Animal Kingdom’s Jacki Weaver, who once again proves she can be cosy and sinister at the same time). However, will local cop Josh Waters (Alex Russell), who is angered when Jay accuses of him being corrupt, finally stop looking the other way and start doing some investigat­ing of his own?

2 THE FAULT IN OUR STARS Tomorrow, Channel 4, 11.35pm

TEENAGER Hazel (Shailene Woodley, pictured) was diagnosed with cancer at an early age. A drug trial has slowed the disease, but she is resigned to her grim fate. At a cancer patients’ support group she meets acerbic survivor Gus (Ansel Elgort). As their relationsh­ip intensifie­s, Hazel tries to keep Gus at arm’s length, warning that she is a ‘grenade’, destined to obliterate everyone around her.

3 TOTAL RECALL Monday, ITV4, 10pm

SCI-FI classic. Doug Quaid (Arnold Schwarzene­gger, left) is a constructi­on worker in 2084 who dreams of going to Mars. Rather than make the journey, he turns to a company specialisi­ng in implanting fake memories only to discover that his mind has already been tampered with and he may have been there for real. To find his true identity, he heads to the red planet and battles its evil governor.

4 THE GHOST Tuesday, ITV4, 10.30pm

FORMER British PM Adam Lang (Pierce Brosnan, pictured) intends to write his memoirs. When his ghost writer dies in suspicious circumstan­ces, Lang hires another nameless Ghost (Ewan Mcgregor) to restructur­e his prose. Lang is then accused of sanctionin­g torture during his time in office. The Ghost witnesses a media storm and the subsequent clamour to repair the statesman’s reputation.

5 LOCKE Wednesday, Channel 4, 1.30am

FAMILY man Ivan Locke (Tom Hardy, pictured) is supposed to be channellin­g his energy into an £11m project in Birmingham. Instead, he abandons the site to speed to London and his co-worker Bethan (Olivia Colman), who is about to give birth to their child. Travelling at terrifying speed, Ivan must call his deputy to supervise the work and explain to his wife and sons why he has left them for the night.

6 SPEED Thursday, Film4, 10.55pm

LA BOMB squad member Jack Traven (Keanu Reeves) ends up playing a deadly game of cat-andmouse with the deranged Howard Payne (Dennis Hopper). The latter plants a device on a bus that will detonate if the vehicle drops below 50mph, and while Jack tries to figure out a way of getting the passengers off the vehicle, keeping it on the road is left to a feisty commuter (Sandra Bullock, pictured).

7 ROBOCOP Friday, ITV4, 9pm

IN THE future, the city of Detroit is on the brink of collapse. The Omni Consumer Products corporatio­n takes over the police department, with a plan to unleash robot officers. Their prototype isn’t up to the job, but when human officer Alex Murphy (Peter Weller) is killed in the line of duty he is rebuilt as a cyborg. Some memories remain, prompting him to try to track down the criminals who killed him.
