Fans can stream an evening with Tuffers live from Southbank City

-

IF you can’t be there in person there’s no need to miss out on Southbank City’s ‘An Evening with’ events with sports stars.

Fans of Phil ‘The Cat’ Tufnell, pictured, can see him live at the bar, in Friar Lane, but with social distancing meaning a limited capacity and vulnerable people still shielding, the bar is taking a two-pronged approach by streaming it live online.

The event had been planned for August 19

- the night before the Test Match at Trent Bridge - but with the match cancelled, it has been pushed back to Friday, September 4.

Tom Holodynsky, operations manager at the Great Northern Group, said: “Obviously these difficult times present problems and difficulties for venues like Southbank City to operate to full potential and they certainly pose problems with our marquee nights such as our ‘Evening with’ events.

“One way we’re looking to overcome some of these problems is to offer our ‘Evening with’ as an online event available to stream on pay per view.

“It’s perfect for those who are shielding or vulnerable and not able to attend the event and also opening us up to the world as well. “We’re hoping cricket fans based around the country and indeed the world will ‘tune in’ and enjoy one of these special nights with us.” An Evening with Phil Tufnell at the bar costs £80 for a gold ticket which includes a meet and greet, photograph, two course dinner, stage view seating, and table service for the evening. The broadcast, 4K with digital sound, three camera angles and exclusive backstage footage and a £5 food voucher which can be used at any time over the next 12 months, will cost £10. Tickets are available at gigantic. com or from the bar. The service is being provided by Nottingham firm Alphageek. The new digital agency is made up of Nottingham Trent University graduates who used to frequent Southbank City in their student days.

“We have teamed up with them after being impressed by them during a Zoom call whilst during lock-down. They are seeing this as a personal project given their history in the venue,” said Tom.
