THE National League play-offs begin this weekend as the fight for Football League promotion finally kicks off.

Notts County are one of six clubs hoping to claim the prize, a year after they were relegated on a dismal last day at Swindon Town.

Boreham Wood face Halifax Town in an eliminator tomorrow (7pm) and this will be followed on Saturday by Yeovil Town’s game against Barnet at Huish Park (7pm).

The semi-finals are to be played on July 25.

Harrogate Town’s clash against Boreham Wood or Halifax at 2.30pm and Neal Ardley’s Notts will face Yeovil Town or Barnet at Meadow Lane at 5pm.

The final will be at Wembley on August 2, kicking off at 2pm.

BT Sport has struck a deal with the National League to show every game.

BT Sport is a subscription channel, so fans will need to sign up if they are to watch the Magpies in action.

You do not need to be a BT customer to get access but if you do have BT TV then you can add the BT Sportpack from £10 a month (free with Starter or Entertainment Extra combo).

If you have BT Broadband, then BT Sportpack comes from £16 a month. Without BT Broadband it costs from £29.99 a month.

Sky TV and Virgin Media customers should contact their providers to get latest prices.

A non-league vice-chairman has dropped a big hint when the new season will start.

Hemel Hempstead’s Kerry Usherwood suggested that the new campaign would get under way on September 12.

The governing bodies are yet to officially announce when the new campaign will begin, although many clubs are back in training in League One and Two as they await a firm date.

Usherwood Tweeted: “New football season likely to start on Saturday September 12 not that I know anything particular.”
