Critics are just being very hypocritical
HOW very hypocritical of Alex Norris MP to claim that “Government has let our city down” (Saturday’s front-page Post headline).
The Government seems to be wisely taking a few days to properly think through any new restrictions for our area rather than rush and maybe get things wrong.
It would actually be far more accurate to state that Alex Norris has let our city down as he continues to be unwilling to criticise the disastrous financial blunders made by his Labour chums at Nottingham City Council.
Nottingham is facing its worstever financial crisis due to the multi-million pounds lost with Robin Hood Energy, Broadmarsh Centre and continuing major weekly losses on the tram system.
Mr Norris, together with local MPS Nadia Whittome and Lilian Greenwood, should be vocally demanding that NCC introduces proper safeguards and decent transparency to avoid yet more fiascos in Nottingham.
If Mr Norris had been doing his job properly perhaps the many millions wasted in Nottingham would have been substantially less.
Have Labour MPS been threatened with losing the Labour whip if they dare criticise any Labour incompetence? Unless the electorate in Nottingham get significantly better transparency and the council stop wasting money on unnecessary anti-motorist schemes I guarantee that in a few months time the Post will be reporting yet another major new financial blunder by the council.
