CAULEY Woodrow rescued Barnsley a point at Oakwell with a penalty in the 12th minute of stoppage time as a 2-2 draw ended Bristol City’s perfect start to the season.

Goals from Jack Hunt and Tyreeq Bakinson in the first six minutes of the second half turned the game around for City after Barnsley took the lead in the second minute of the game through Michal Helik.

But in the fifth minute of added time, Michael Sollbauer was fouled and had to receive lengthy treatment before Woodrow was able to take the spot-kick.

Despite the late blow, Bristol City remain top of the early table, ahead of second-placed Reading, who were held to a goalless draw away against Middlesbrough.

Wycombe Wanderers were finally able to celebrate their first goal in the second tier of English football but are still looking for a first point after Millwall came from behind to record a 2-1 victory at Adams Park.

The Chairboys gave themselves hope of getting off the mark through Scott Kashket’s bizarre opener after Bartosz Bialkowski miscontrolled in his own six-yard box.

However, a Jed Wallace penalty and a fine Ryan Leonard strike gave the visitors the points.

Huddersfield Town robbed Swansea City of their unbeaten record in the League this term as they won on the road for the first time in three months at the Liberty Stadium.

Josh Koroma clinched a 2-1 victory with his first goal for the club in the 67th minute after the home side cancelled out Harry Toffolo’s opener with an Andre Ayew penalty.

Jordan Hugill scored a stoppagetime penalty as Norwich City came from behind to beat 10-man Rotherham United 2-1.

Freddie Ladapo gave the Millers an early lead but then had a penalty saved by Tim Krul.

Michael Ihiekwe’s own goal saw Norwich draw level midway through the second half, with Angus Macdonald seeing red for the hosts before Hugill struck.

FORMER Nottingham Forest fullback Danny Fox has sealed a transfer to Indian Super League club SC East Bengal, leaving League One side Wigan Athletic.

The 34-year-old spent five years at the City Ground between 2014 and 2019, making 127 appearances in a Forest shirt.

He moved to Wigan Athletic in January 2019 and has played two League One games this season but has been left out of the squad for the past three matches.

Fox will now join the Indian Premier League’s newly-formed side, managed by Robbie Fowler, reportedly turning down an offer of a longer contract from the Latics.

The defender has been locked in talks with the club for a number of weeks but it has now been confirmed that an agreement has been reached.

On their official Twitter account, the club confirmed the arrival: “Say hello to our defensive rock – Danny Fox. Give him a Lal-holud Salaam!”

As noticed by some fans, the unveiling picture includes the defender posing in a Forest shirt.

Speaking after completing his move, Fox explained his decision to swap England for India.

“I am thrilled to be part of SC East Bengal, a club rich in history,” he said.

“I’ve rubbed shoulders with the very best in the Premier League and would love to share the benefit of my experience with the squad.

“The challenge of representing the Red and Gold motivated me to reach new heights.”

It is said that Fowler’s stature and influence in the English game has helped to convince Fox to seal the transfer.
