Some students are just ignorant scum

-

IT is not surprising that Nottingham will shortly be in Tier Three. Numerous people are ignoring and flaunting the advice given on social distancing and refusing to wear face masks and literally brushing past people etc.

Going round Nottingham older people are doing the latter but it mostly tends to be the younger generation.

They have had an anti-social anti-authority stance long before the pandemic struck so are unlikely to change their attitude on that.

As for these students who have a blatant disregard by holding house parties and even street parties they deserve to have the book thrown at them.

Like in Lenton recently, students holding a party with 30 people in the building, telling police they have gone, only for the police to find these people hiding.

They had the cheek and audacity to tell police they were “spoiling their fun”. At least four of them have had a £10,000 fine imposed on them. Hope they mean it. They should be booted out of university, which should then put genuine, decent students in their place who wish to further themselves.

I am fully aware that there are well-behaved, decent, civilised students out there who deserve to get on in society but unfortunately there are those with this rotten mindset who are wasting their time and the universities’, who see university life as one big party.

Speaking from experience, a lot of students have an arrogant, selfish, couldn’t-care-less attitude.

For some reason they believe they have the right to play loud music and make other noises into the early hours which some have actually told me that “they are allowed to because it’s a uni area” after I asked them to turn the noise down, which they didn’t. For me, they are ignorant scum. According to one department within the council the Arboretum area is a residential area but speaking to an individual from Loxley

House last year he said I live on a building site.

Some of those in Loxley House need to learn the term “people skills” which they clearly lack. They seem to think that noise nuisance/disturbance, causing sleepless nights and ill-health amusing, I don’t think it amusing in the slightest.

It makes it worse when society accepts student anti-social idiotic uncivilised behaviour. Why people defend such things is beyond me.

One of the worst things the authorities have now done is allow students back into residential areas with Covid-19 infections rising sharply.

I did voice my concern via email to Councillor Merlita Bryan on that matter. As of yet, still awaiting a reply/response.

All these councillors and others care about is their self-importance and their self image. They do not impress me one bit.
