FOR those who don’t subscribe to streaming service Britbox, this will probably be their first view of the famous satirical latex puppets for some time. Spitting Image was, of course, hugely popular in the 1980s and didn’t hold back when poking fun at celebrities and members of the establishment. There should be plenty of material for its writers to get their teeth into ahead of next week’s US election, in which President Donald Trump goes head-to-head with Joe Biden.

IT’S been a difficult year for so many of us, but one thing that has shone through even the darkest periods has been the number of homegrown heroes we have, folk who always go that extra mile to help others less fortunate than themselves. There are those who have been doing it for years, while others have stepped up during the
coronavirus pandemic – and several of them will be receiving awards tonight.
One person we already know has won an award is Captain Sir Tom Moore, but the rest will be announced by presenter Carol Vorderman and a variety of celebrity guests.

THE fourth and final instalment of this shortened run of the genealogy show features actress Liz Carr, who is probably best known for playing Clarissa in Silent Witness. Liz is most intrigued by the rumour that one of her ancestors
was linked to an assault. As she delves further into this real-life crime story, she discovers her great-great-great-grandfather was involved in an attempted murder in rural Northern Ireland in the 1850s.
EDUCATING GREATER MANCHESTER

WE RETURN to Harrop Fold Secondary School in Salford for a new year.
This four-part series, which begins tonight and continues tomorrow, marks the first time Educating has returned to the same school, and as before, it will follow the drama of teenage life over a year. In the first episode, we are introduced to a new batch of pupils and reacquainted with much-loved
characters from the previous series. Meanwhile, head Drew Povey and the teachers are on high alert after a member of the public calls in claiming to have seen a pupil with a knife.
THE EMILY ATACK SHOW

THE actress, comedian and I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! star hosts this new comedy show which sees Emily perform stand-up and sketches, on a series of relatable topics.
She’ll also show off a host of celebrity impressions with each episode covering a different theme, from going out and family, to image, friends and growing up. In the first show, Emily looks at the perils and pitfalls of the dating game.
EAT WELL FOR LESS?

TONIGHT, Gregg Wallace and Chris Bavin tackle a common problem in households across the country – getting families to eat the same food.
Aliyah and Ajaz Ahmed and their young family live a hectic life near Glasgow, and as they have very different tastes, they
rarely consume the same meal. The couple ask the hosts to help them figure out ways to eat together and reduce the amount of red meat and costly takeaways they feast on.
