1 BLOCKERS Tonight, Channel 4, 9pm

BEST friends Julie (Kathryn Newton), Kayla (Geraldine Viswanatha­n) and Sam (Gideon Adlon) are poised to leave for college. Bidding farewell to their pride and joys on prom night, Julie’s single mum Lisa (Leslie Mann), Kayla’s father Mitchell (John Cena) and Sam’s dad Hunter (Ike Barinholtz) discover that their girls have forged a pact to have sex for the first time with their prom dates. The parents vow to prevent their daughters from giving away something so precious as their virginity. Newton, Viswanatha­n and Adlon are instantly lovable high school heroines while the older cast are game for a laugh as punchlines to filthy comic set-pieces.

2 SPY Tomorrow, E4, 9pm

MELISSA MCCARTHY, pictured, stars in Paul Feig’s comedy action-thriller. She plays CIA analyst Susan Cooper who has spent her career behind a desk providing intelligen­ce support for dashing agent Bradley Fine (Jude Law). When Bradley fails in his mission to recover a briefcase-sized nuclear weapon, Susan is sent undercover to Europe to retrieve the bomb. Will she rise to the challenge?

3THE CHILDREN ACT Monday, BBC2, 9pm

DRAMA starring Emma Thompson, pictured, as high court judge Fiona Maye, who is dealing with the urgent case of 17-year-old leukaemia patient Adam Henry (Fionn Whitehead). The boy and his parents are Jehovah’s Witnesses and it is contrary to their faith to accept blood. But without a transfusio­n, Adam will die. Fiona must deliver her ruling while trying to resuscitat­e her marriage.

4 KEEPING UP WITH THE JONESES Tuesday, E4, 9pm

JEFF GAFFNEY (Zach Galifianak­is) and wife Karen (Isla Fisher, pictured) enjoy a simple life in a leafy cul-de-sac. Out of the blue, travel writer Tim Jones (Jon Hamm) and his food blogger wife Natalie (Gal Gadot) move in across the street, paying cash for their home without viewing the property. Intrigued, the Gaffneys infiltrate their neighbours’ home and discover that they are actually government spies.

5WORLD WAR Z Wednesday, Film4, 10.45pm

POST-APOCALYPTI­C zombie action horror. Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt, pictured) is a retired UN investigat­or who devotes his time to his family. As the Lanes witness the spread of a disease, which transforms people into merciless predators with a single bite, Gerry’s old boss guarantees safe passage for his family on an aircraft carrier if he agrees to help discover the source of the outbreak.

6 THE BAND WAGON Thursday, BBC4, 8pm

IN THIS classic musical, movie star Tony Hunter (Fred Astaire) fears his career is on the skids, but two friends (Oscar Levant and Nanette Fabray) have written the perfect comeback vehicle for him – a light-hearted Broadway show. However, when director Jeffrey Cordova (Jack Buchanan) casts ballerina Gaby Gerard (Cyd Charisse, pictured with Astaire), Tony fears his big chance is slipping away.

7 SUICIDE SQUAD Friday, ITV2, 9pm

US GOVERNMENT agent Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) fears the arrival of another metahuman like Superman. She sets up a crew of incarcerat­ed criminals to carry out covert missions, including baseball bat-wielding Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie, pictured). Meanwhile, Batman (Ben Affleck) swoops over Gotham and super-villain The Joker (Jared Leto) plots a reunion with girlfriend Harley.
