THE vibrant flavours of a new style of takeaway are coming to Beeston – with a prominent position on one of the area’s busiest roads.

It will be the third site for Chao Chao, which also has takeaways in West Bridgford and Arnold.

The locally owned urban oriental kitchen puts a fresh twist on Asian street food and flavour-packed curries.

Chao Chao, which first burst on to the scene in 2018, will be opening in the former Chinese takeaway Man’s Garden, which closed in August after 27 years.

A makeover to transform the property is set to begin later this month, with opening planned towards the end of January.

Fresher, cleaner and greener is the motto of the business, which has an open kitchen, doesn’t use MSG or artificial colours, and cares for the environment by using recyclable packaging.

Customers will be able to chow down on traditional Chinese favourites such as prawn toast, spring rolls, crispy duck pancakes and sweet and sour chicken.

But there’s much more besides including a signature dish of Malaysian street food curry with sticky jasmine rice, Pad Thai and donburi – traditional Japanese rice bowls.

Bao buns filled with BBQ pork belly, lemongrass beef, spicy Korean prawns or a veggie Asian-spiced patty is another speciality.

The menu also has sizeable gluten-free and vegan sections with tasty dishes of bang bang cauliflower and Indonesian yellow vegetable and tofu curry.

Chao Chao’s business manager, David Staiano, said: “We are delighted to bring our premium takeaway offering to an area of the city which we felt lacked this presence in terms of food diversity and quality, so it will be great to offer our street food-style Asian food to the surrounding areas and we’re excited to see the store take shape.”

The takeaway will be offering a delivery service within three to four miles.

The deal was secured by Box Property. Director Frankie Labbate said: “I am really pleased to have secured this strategic location for an amazing brand who will no doubt be a success in this part of Nottingham on competitive terms while beating the large amounts of competition we faced in securing this prominent site.

“Chao Chao are an exciting brand with top quality product which I am sure the residents of Wollaton, Beeston, Bramcote and Nottingham University campus will really enjoy sampling on a regular basis.”
