LATEST NHS figures have revealed how many patients were in hospital with Covid-19 across three of Nottinghamshire’s hospital trusts at the start of this week.

As of November 10, there were 293 Covid patients in beds at Nottingham University Hospitals Trust, which runs the Queen’s Medical Centre and City Hospital.

Of these, 23 patients were on mechanical ventilation beds, NHS England data shows.

Nottingham University Hospitals Trust says on its website it has 90 wards and around 1,700 beds.

At Sherwood Forest Hospitals Foundation Trust, which runs the King’s Mill Hospital, there were 86 Covid-19 patients in beds as of November 10.

Nine of these patients were on mechanical ventilation beds.

And at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, 203 Covid patients were in beds as of November 10. Seven were on mechanical ventilation beds. It means as of that date there were 582 patients in a bed with Covid across the three trusts.

There are now 50 percent more people with Covid in the county’s hospitals than at the start of April in the peak of the first wave of coronavirus, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire’s NHS Clinical Commissioning Group revealed.

But new cases of Covid-19 being reported in Nottingham are at their lowest level in six weeks.

According to Nottingham City Council’s latest Covid surveillance report, 788 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded between November 2 and November 8 – the latest available week. This is a drop from 1,250 cases recorded the week before.

It is the lowest weekly number of cases in the city since the week starting September 21, when 293 cases were confirmed.

And the number of new cases of Covid-19 continues to fall week-onweek in Nottingham and its closest boroughs, weekly data has shown.

The figures, which are a rolling seven-day total of new Covid-19 cases, show rates per 100,000 people in the city, Broxtowe, Gedling and Rushcliffe are on a downward trend.

The data is accurate to the week ending November 8, and provides insight into how widespread the virus is in each local authority.

It shows Bassetlaw continues to have the highest rate across the county, with 457.2 cases for every 100,000 people. This is an increase on last week’s rate of 422.3 cases per 100,000 after 537 positive tests were recorded in the week to November 8.
